Accommodation and meals

As a volunteer, you’ll stay in a cozy room in our house with everything you need for a comfortable stay: a bed, shower, fridge, and even a small TV. We provide three meals a day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Dinner is served family-style, where you’ll eat with the children after their school day, sharing moments of connection and joy.

What’s on the menu?

Our meals consist of delicious and authentic Ugandan dishes, such as chapatis, rolex, posho, matooke (green bananas), sweet potatoes, beans, groundnut sauce, peas, and cabbage. After dinner, we sometimes gather around a campfire to share stories, play traditional music, or simply enjoy each other’s company under the stars.

If you’d like to explore nearby options, a small local center with restaurants and shops is just a 5-minute walk away. Here, you’ll find everything from local dishes to western favorites like burgers and fries.

Airport pick-up and transportation

For your convenience, we can arrange airport pick-ups and drop-offs from Entebbe. The drive to Bujagali takes about 4 hours and costs $100 each way.

Weekends and free time

Weekends are yours to enjoy! There are plenty of activities to explore around Bujagali, including visits to the Nile River, hiking, exploring local markets, or simply relaxing and soaking in the beautiful scenery. If you’re looking for an adventure, we can help you arrange excursions or tours in the area.

Why we need you

At Ferrinandah Children's Home, we are working hard to build a brighter future for the children we support, but we can’t do it alone. Your time, skills, and energy can help us make progress in ways we couldn’t achieve otherwise. Whether it’s teaching, building, fundraising, or simply spending time with the children, your contribution makes a lasting impact.
